California
Background
Yen brings more than two decades of mission-driven careers across academia, public health, and health care sectors. Her commitment to improving access and equity in health has shaped her distinguished career.
Yen was named Woman-of-the-Year by the California State Majority Leader for her impactful work combating hunger during the COVID-19 pandemic. Her numerous national awards by National Association of Counties (NACO), Academy of Nutrition and Dietetic and APHA speak to her impactful achievements in public health.
As a first-generation immigrant, Yen takes great pride in her heritage. She hopes to inspire every member of APIC to embrace their Asian American and Pacific Islander (AAPI) roots and heritage, and to feel even prouder to enrich the rich tapestry of America—values that she herself exemplifies.
