Background
Suruthi Sundaramurugan is a PhD student in Public Health Sciences at the University of North Texas Health Science Center, with research interests in aging, immigrant health, and health equity. She joined APIC to be part of a community that uplifts Asian and Pacific Islander voices in public health and creates space for students and early career professionals to feel supported and represented. As APIC’s Student and Young Professional Director, Suruthi aims to strengthen the mentorship program and expand practical workshops and networking sessions that open doors for members to grow as leaders and make a tangible difference in their communities.
